03 Sep One Big Story Interactive Set

You can read all about our plan for One Big Story here. As you do, you’ll see that we will be designating portions of our set to the One Big Story Program we’ve created. We are planning to make this an interactive part of our set for the entire year.

  • IMG_2863On one side of the stage, storytellers will use a TV and tablet as they tell the Bible story. We hope this exposure to a digital form of the Bible will encourage kids to read the Bible more often, being that they can access it on a smart phone or tablet.
  • IMG_2865On the other side of our stage, we’ll have a poster version of the Big Story Timeline affixed to a piece of insulation foam. It will hang on the back wall of the set. The storyteller will also interact and reference this weekly, as he/she finds the story and “marks” where we are on the timeline with a star-shaped Post It Note.
  • Underneath the Timeline, we will have a bookshelf that will house traditional paperback versions of the Bible (photo on the right is incomplete-black shelving unit from Target is still under construction).
  • Next to the stage (on the side with the Timeline) will be another TV and tablet. This entire section will be designated for small group leaders who wish to help their kids learn how to navigate through a digital form of the Bible.
  • Both the storyteller and small group leader TV’s will have the tablets and/or smart phones connected to them. They will both have access to the following:

How do you help kids engage with the Bible and understand it?
