Projectors are useful throughout many environments in the context of a contemporary church. We use them in our elementary environment for the obvious reason of projecting images, videos, and live lyrics onto screens as part of our large group production. In addition, we use a projector to enlarge images on large sheets of insulation foam. We trace those images, carve them out with a hot knife and then paint them to create elements for various sets. Many churches use opaque projectors or overhead projectors in the same way. Whatever type of projector you have access to, they are a great resource for enlarging images if you do not have the artistic ability to draw things out by hand.
