Foam Core Board can be used for so many things. We love how sturdy it is and that it comes in a variety of colors. We use it most of the time to create signage and visuals for our sets. This type of foam core is very different than the kind we use for our backdrops. The insulation foam we use for our backdrops is larger, thicker and has the ability to be carved with a hot knife into curved shapes. Foam core board on the other hand is thinner, less flexible, and while it can be carved into curved shapes it is not easy. This type of board has to be cut with a sharp knife (a utility knife or X-acto blade) or else the hot knife will burn the paper finish. As a result, it is best to use this type of board for visuals that have straight edges.
