Week 2 – In the Books

Since we are changing the set each week to match the genre represented in the Host’s opener (read more about that in this post), I’ll include a photo gallery each week of our “new” set. Below is a gallery of pics from our finished set for Week 2 of Commitment – Rehearsal Room.

IMG_1561This set was very similar to a set we did back in December of 2012. We were in our old building so the stage looks different, but you’ll see that we recreated a lot of the same ideas and reused almost all of the props, materials, etc. I spent no money on this week’s set as a result! SCORE!

Not Finished with Week 1 Yet

We have a large retractible wall (that remains closed for the time being) in our environment. It is part of the space where our 3rd-5th grade small groups meet. Since this part of our environment gets closed off after large group, the 3rd-5th grade small groups can no longer see the stage/focal wall. Our K-2nd graders meet in the same space as our large group, so the Life App and Theme are always before them.

IMG_2319I thought it might be nice for our 3rd-5th graders to have some elements of our stage/focal wall in their space for a change, so I’ve decided to add a few things from the previous week’s set to this wall each week. This week, it is the piano and music staffs.

IMG_2184We added some decor elements in this room during the month of December as well, by hanging their “Genrerosi-trees” along this wall. We won’t always be able to do this, as our environment shares space with other ministries, but in December and January we’ve had less need to remove decor, so I’m taking advantage of that and using the space!

Do you have multiple spaces where kids meet? Do you include decor and/or elements of the month’s theme in these spaces? Jump in the comments section below and share your ideas about how to carry the month’s Theme and Life App to multiple environments.
